Such Turkeys!

Pen Air FCU donated 65 Butterball turkeys to the NAS Pensacola United Sservice Organization office for its annual Thanksgiving dinner which hosts service members who are staying on base for the holiday.

Last year was the first year this event replaced the traditional military host family dinners, where service members would be “adopted” by local families and invited to their homes for Thanksgiving. An estimated 600 people attended the USO’s free Thanksgiving meal last year, and more than 1,000 are expected this year.

“We are grateful to Pen Air for stepping up on short notice to provide these turkeys for the dinner,” said Heidi Blair, Director of the Florida Panhandle Region USO. “Their generosity will really help make this event a success.”

Pen Air FCU President and CEO Ron Fields, Executive Vice President and COO John Ochs and Executive Vice President and CFO David Tuyo were on hand to deliver the turkeys.

“Pen Air always supports our military and we are happy to have been able to help out,” Fields said. “This is their home away from home and we want to make sure everyone has a happy Thanksgiving.”

Business partners and SEGs honored with luncheons

Pen Air FCU honored its business partners and select employee groups (SEGs)with three luncheons in the past 10 days. SEG Relations Marketing Representative Brad Larsen planned all three successful events.

On Oct. 29 at The Gift Horse in Foley, AL, the Baldwin County businesses were in attendance to network, truly have a "free" lunch and cash in on some great door prizes.

Branch Liaison/Community Relations Marketing Representative Jennifer Parker and Brad Larsen have the welcome table set up at The Goft Horse and are ready for the first business' arrival.

Brad Larsen, AVP/Regional Branch Director Karen McCart and Maureen Silsbee from the Wharf Branch received guests as they arrived.

One table of Baldwin County business partners pauses for a picture.

The Penscola and Gulf Breeze business partners and SEGs were invited to lunch Nov. 4 at Heritage Hall at Seville in downtown Pensacola. Roughly 120 people were in attendance to enjoy the Southern-style buffet lunch, networking, and, of course, some fabulous door prizes, including a two-night stay at the Pensacola Beach Hilton! In fact, all three lunch events had that weekend getaway as a prize!

Brad Larsen, Business Development Officer Brynn Ammon (above) and CEO/President Ron Fields all said a few words, thanking the attendees for their membership - Pen Air FCU would not have reached $1 Billion in assets without people like them!

Last, but certainly not least, was the lunch for the northern Santa Rosa County businesses. On Nov. 5, they arrived to enjoy a barbecue buffet at the Red Barn, as well as networking opportunities and  door prizes!

Commercial Lending Assistant Debbie Kemp (left), AVP/Business Lending Manager Tom Furr and Milton II Branch Manager Beverly Peacock are on door duty.

EVP/COO John Ochs (center) thanks a guest for attending the luncheon.

We did it! Pen Air FCU now has $1 Billion in assets!

Pen Air Federal Credit Union has grown to $1 Billion in Assets thanks to our member-owners! During the month of November, Pen Air FCU will celebrate this milestone with its “Thanks a Billion” campaign.

In May 2002, Pen Air FCU reached $500 million in assets, and doubling in just seven years, while consistently earning the 5-Star Superior rating for financial strength and stability from BauerFinancial, Inc., the nation’s leading independent bank and credit union rating and research firm. Pen Air FCU has also been awarded the Florida Credit Union League’ Dora Maxwell Award for exhibiting excellence in social responsibility.

“Pen Air Federal Credit Union is proud to have reached $1 Billion in assets,” said Ron Fields, President and Chief Executive Officer. “We are pleased that our member-owners continue to regard us as a trusted financial institution and we hope to continue to surpass their expectations.”

Through November, all Pen Air FCU offices will celebrate this milestone achievement with tokens of appreciation for member-owners while supplies last.

“It’s our way of saying ‘thank you’ to our member-owners and let them know that we do not take their financial business for granted,” said Patty Veal, Vice President of Marketing.

Pen Air FCU, whose tagline is “We Get It Done!,” is a not-for-profit, member-owned financial institution that was originally chartered in 1936 to serve civil service and military employees as well as their immediate families assigned to our military bases in the area. Today, Pen Air FCU serves many other employee groups, with 15 branches across Northwest Florida and Southeast Alabama.

For more information about joining Pen Air FCU, stop by any of our convenient branches (link to locations on this page to the right), or call 1-877-4PENAIR.

We raised it! Pen Air FCU employees donate $20,500 to ACS

For several months, Pen Air FCU employees have been raising money for the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Mall-to-Mall Walk. Casual days, barbecues, bake sales, prize raffles and hot dog lunches were just a few of the events employees planned that added up to the big number: $20,500.

About 100 Pen Air FCU employees and thier families and friends walked in the Mall-to-Mall walk, some of them as survivors, and a few in memory of loved ones they'd lost to the disease. But everyone was wearing the special pink ribbon "Walk It." t-shirts. If you were there, you may have seen us in a splash of blue among the pink!
