Such Turkeys!

Pen Air FCU donated 65 Butterball turkeys to the NAS Pensacola United Sservice Organization office for its annual Thanksgiving dinner which hosts service members who are staying on base for the holiday.

Last year was the first year this event replaced the traditional military host family dinners, where service members would be “adopted” by local families and invited to their homes for Thanksgiving. An estimated 600 people attended the USO’s free Thanksgiving meal last year, and more than 1,000 are expected this year.

“We are grateful to Pen Air for stepping up on short notice to provide these turkeys for the dinner,” said Heidi Blair, Director of the Florida Panhandle Region USO. “Their generosity will really help make this event a success.”

Pen Air FCU President and CEO Ron Fields, Executive Vice President and COO John Ochs and Executive Vice President and CFO David Tuyo were on hand to deliver the turkeys.

“Pen Air always supports our military and we are happy to have been able to help out,” Fields said. “This is their home away from home and we want to make sure everyone has a happy Thanksgiving.”
