Cell Phones for Soldiers... galore!

Wow! What a response! We're only 6 days in to the month of May and one Pen Air FCU branch has already collected nearly 100 cell phones. Thank you to everyone who has donated them to this worthy cause! We'll be collecting them throughout the month so drop them off at your local branch!

Pen Air FCU branches are drop-off locations for “Cell Phones for Soldiers” as part of Military Appreciation Month. “Cell Phones for Soldiers” is a non-profit organization. When people donate old cell phones, they are then sold to a company that recycles them. The money is used to purchase calling cards that are sent to soldiers serving overseas. Each donated phone is enough to provide an hour of talk time to soldiers abroad. Any type of cell phone is accepted, as well as calling cards, through May 31, 2011
